The Utah Food Bank is the cornerstone for programs like The BackPack Program and distributed 61,000 back packs to needy children throughout the state at 37 after school sites. These back packs are full of nutritious food, to sustain these children through the weekend, as many children get their main nutrition and meals from school programs. The Kids Café serves nutritious meals to over 1,900 students and children daily. The Food Box program delivers food, milk and produce to homebound seniors. For every $1 donated to the Utah Food Bank, they can provide $7.81 worth of basic goods and services to those in need.
The Utah Food Bank has many needs, and we’re happy to dig in and help, wherever the need is the greatest. With the natural disasters that have hit our country this hurricane season, there is an even greater need for volunteers and help. Many of the UFB resources have been sent out of state to help those hit by those tragedies. The UFB needs are continual, throughout the year. Our LONG team loves to volunteer a few hours to kick off the holiday season. It gives us the opportunity to work together on an out-side project, build our team and have a great time in gratitude! We look forward to this every year – and as you can see, we all have a blast serving our Utah community.
